Privacy Policy

How The Link International Welfare Society collects, uses and protects your information.

Who we are

The Link International (UK) Welfare Society (“we”, “us”, “our”) is a registered charity in England and Wales, charity number 1142376. This policy explains what personal information we collect through tliwelfare.com, why we collect it, and the choices you have.

Information we collect

We collect personal information when you interact with us directly:

• Donations — your name and email address, and, if you claim Gift Aid, your UK home address and postcode. Your card details are entered directly into Stripe, our payment processor, and are never seen or stored by us.
• Contact form — your name, email address, phone number and the content of your message.
• Newsletter sign-up — your email address.

How we use your information

We use your information to process your donation, claim Gift Aid on your behalf where applicable, respond to your enquiry, and — only if you’ve asked to hear from us — send you updates about our work. We do not use your information for any other purpose, and we do not sell or rent it to third parties.

Who we share it with

• Stripe, our payment processor, to process card donations securely (see Stripe’s own privacy policy).
• HM Revenue & Customs, where you have made a Gift Aid declaration, as required by law.

We do not share your information with anyone else, except where required to by law.

How long we keep it

We keep donation and Gift Aid records for as long as required by HMRC record-keeping rules (currently at least six years), and contact enquiries for as long as needed to resolve them. Newsletter email addresses are kept until you unsubscribe.

Cookies

Our website currently sets only the cookies necessary for it to function correctly. If we add analytics or marketing cookies in future, we will ask for your consent first and update this policy.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law, you can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, and object to how we use it. To exercise any of these rights, contact us via our Contact Us page. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office if you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your information.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The version on this page is always the current one.
